-
1 package Plain Beef Brats (or more if feeding a crowd!)
-
2 cups sauerkraut , drained
-
4 large russet potatoes , peeled and chopped
-
4 tbsp butter
-
½ cup milk (or cream for extra richness)
-
Salt & pepper to taste
-
Optional: Gravy for serving
Instructions:
-
Cook the Brats :
-
In a Skillet : Brown the beef brats over medium heat, then add sauerkraut and a splash of water. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
-
Boil in Beer : Simmer the brats in your favorite beer for 15 minutes for extra flavor—then brown them in a skillet if desired.
-
BBQ Them : Grill the brats over medium heat, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through—perfect for warm weather!
-
-
Make the Mash : While the brats cook, boil the potatoes until tender (about 15 minutes). Drain, then mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper to taste.
-
Serve & Enjoy: Pile a generous scoop of mashed potatoes on your plate, top with brats and sauerkraut, and drizzle with gravy if desired.
